Player Code of Conduct

  • I play baseball because I want to, not because others, including parents or coaches, want me to play.
  • I will play by the rules and in the spirit of fair competition and sportsmanship.
  • I will not use offensive or profane language.
  • I will represent myself, my community and baseball in a responsible and respectful manner.
  • I will do my best to always support my teammates and be a team player.
  • I will respect my teammates, opponents, coaches, officials and spectators.
  • I will treat everybody as I want to be treated regardless of a person’s race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religion, family status, physical or mental disability, gender or sexual orientation.
  • I will accept the decisions of coaches and officials.
  • I will not argue or question umpire’s decisions. Only my coaches will discuss decisions with umpires.
  • I accept that I will not play every inning and I may not get to play every position I want.
  • I know that I will not get a hit every at bat. If I pitch, I will not strike out every batter. Winning is not everything and I will not brag if I win or complain if I lose. Having fun, improving skills, and doing my best are more important.
  • I will be drug and alcohol free at games and practices. I will not use alcohol, drugs or tobacco products at or near the field.
  • I will be on time for practices and games. I will attend all team meetings, practices, games, and training. If I am unable to attend, I will inform my coach as soon as I know that I will not be able to attend.
  • I will abide by the dress code at all times by wearing my team uniform and keeping it clean.
  • I will leave the dugout and field neater than I found it.
  • I will treat all equipment with respect. Throwing bats, gloves, batting helmets and other equipment will not be tolerated and it may result in being removed from the practice/game along with additional disciplinary action.
  • I will adhere to the CBS Kiwanis Minor Baseball Association's Social Media Policy.
  • I also agree that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, I may be subject to disciplinary action levied by my Coaches and /or the CBS Kiwanis Minor Baseball Association Executive that could include but not limited to the following:
    • Verbal warning;
    • Written warning;
