Player Code of Conduct
- I play baseball because I want to, not because others, including parents or coaches, want me to play.
- I will play by the rules and in the spirit of fair competition and sportsmanship.
- I will not use offensive or profane language.
- I will represent myself, my community and baseball in a responsible and respectful manner.
- I will do my best to always support my teammates and be a team player.
- I will respect my teammates, opponents, coaches, officials and spectators.
- I will treat everybody as I want to be treated regardless of a person’s race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religion, family status, physical or mental disability, gender or sexual orientation.
- I will accept the decisions of coaches and officials.
- I will not argue or question umpire’s decisions. Only my coaches will discuss decisions with umpires.
- I accept that I will not play every inning and I may not get to play every position I want.
- I know that I will not get a hit every at bat. If I pitch, I will not strike out every batter. Winning is not everything and I will not brag if I win or complain if I lose. Having fun, improving skills, and doing my best are more important.
- I will be drug and alcohol free at games and practices. I will not use alcohol, drugs or tobacco products at or near the field.
- I will be on time for practices and games. I will attend all team meetings, practices, games, and training. If I am unable to attend, I will inform my coach as soon as I know that I will not be able to attend.
- I will abide by the dress code at all times by wearing my team uniform and keeping it clean.
- I will leave the dugout and field neater than I found it.
- I will treat all equipment with respect. Throwing bats, gloves, batting helmets and other equipment will not be tolerated and it may result in being removed from the practice/game along with additional disciplinary action.
- I will adhere to the CBS Kiwanis Minor Baseball Association's Social Media Policy.
- I also agree that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, I may be subject to disciplinary action levied by my Coaches and /or the CBS Kiwanis Minor Baseball Association Executive that could include but not limited to the following:
- Verbal warning;
- Written warning;
- Restricted from attending a specified number of attending games/practices;
- Restricted from attending games/practices for remainder season, including postseason; and
- Player expulsion from the league.
SUMMARY: CBS Kiwanis Minor Baseball Association players should assume at all times they are representing the Association. CBS Kiwanis Minor Baseball Association players agree to adhere to all conditions set forth with in the Player Code of Conduct Policy once registration forms are submitted to the Association.
